Chloe ElgarTo me, Jiivala is a program that is designed to inspire true and honest self-discovery within a supportive and motivational environment. The idea behind Jiivala is to attract business savvy and life thirsty individuals who have the means and drive to create an attractive life filled with passion. For me, Jiivala was about strengthening my skills as a natural food chef- while also, unexpectedly learning to uncover and face some of my self-demeaning demons when it comes to success and failure. By creating a definitive bond with other women within my industry and outside of it, I feel as though I am walking on stronger ground and have a larger, more secure safety net to fall into, if need be. Thus, in short-form- Jiivala trained me in business design and planning, mastering the art of holistic cooking and catering as well as developing the ability to ask for help, when in need. Just a month out of the program I’m already booking catering jobs with dream clients.
Chloe Elgar is recent graduate from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition in Vancouver, where she studied to become a Certified Nutritional Practitioner. Before that, she studied at the University of British Columbia to receive her BA in Psychology and English.
Chloe has a fervent drive for health, food and cooking. Since finishing school- Chloe has continued to fulfill her passion by writing a blog, called Chloe’s Countertop, which quickly grew into her business, Chloe’s Countertop Holistic Catering & Nutrition. Chloe combines her passion for nutrition and cooking alongside her past of disordered eating and low self-esteem, to create a life where food is the core. Through writing, catering and being a natural food chef- Chloe works with clients in leading them on a journey to rediscover a conscious love for food and themselves that she believes, was always truly there.
Long term, Chloe plans to open a ranch retreat where people can go to learn about food and nutrition, eat & cook nourishing, beautiful food- while being in a equine-centered setting. Chloe grew up with horses and found much of herself and her recovery through a bond with horses. This inspired her to share this special bond with others, through a holistic therapeutic approach, combining all of Chloe’s background and passions.
Chloe is currently a personal Natural Food Chef to Celebrity Clients and the infamous author of Chloe’s Countertop blog.
Sam DoboJiivala has given me the confidence to take charge of my life and my destiny. Before Jiivala I was a student seeking guidance. Under Sherry Strong’s mentorship I found my calling and am now excited working toward my dreams creating my own business and seminars already. Jiivala graduates lead with their hearts, teach from experience, and will empower positive change in the lives they touch. Jiivala is the place to find your passion and authentically make money from it. I am infinitely grateful that I listened to my heart and took this program. I was taught by a legend, established lasting relationships, and mapped out my dreams.
Marcie Larson-FossenI originally took the program for the cooking, thinking the business portion was just something I’d have to endure. I quickly realized, however, it was quite the opposite. For the first time in my life, I was excited by the prospect of turning my passion for writing into a career. In one sentence, Sherry Strong not only educates, she empowers.
Melanie EmlynSo much has changed in my life and continues to change, since I took the Jiivala Entrepreneurship Program. I didn’t really have any expectations as to what exactly I was going to get from the program besides cooking skills and business ideas. I got these things and so much more. I improve my skills and
confidence in the kitchen as well as had to time to focus and create my business from a place of support and knowledge. The most amazing thing I took away from this program was the personal growth. If I could put it to you this way, I went in to this program a lost girl, riddled with self doubt and fear, I came out an empowered, confident, woman with a clear sense of direction. I learned things about myself that I was not even aware of. Sherry helped facilitate a deep awakening that helped me look inward and become aware of the walls I was putting up around myself both mentally and emotionally.
I learned how fear can stop us from doing the things we want to do. Fear of failing. Fear of being laughed at or called stupid. Fear of not upholding to a certain standard that we ourselves or the public have set. Sherry helped me face these fears and realize that they were simply thoughts and stories that I had created and believed to be true. She empowered me to take hold of my dreams and realize that they can come true with dedication, positive thinking, hard work and support. She has created this amazing network of like minded people that want to do everything they can to help others succeed. This family that I have the privilege to be a part of has continued to support me through times of fear and self doubt and continues to remind me that anything is possible if you believe in yourself.
Even though I am still studying, I am already presenting cooking classes of my own and selling products I’ve created for my business.
I am thankful for all the motivational speakers that came in and opened up about the heartaches of being an entrepreneur. I am thankful for having the honour to cook amazing food with the most amazing people under the instruction of an amazing chef. I am thankful for the fact that I walked away from the program with a full business plan and a clear vision of what I want. Most of all, I am thankful for the incredible woman I am today. The growth alone from this program has changed my life completely and I will continue to recommend it to everyone.
I am a holistic Nutritionist with a passion for educating people on how eating healthy can help change their lives. Today we are removed from not only the preparation of our food but also the awareness of what is actually in our food. My goal is to bridge that gap by getting people back into the kitchen with healthy cooking classes. I believe that the quickest way to inspire a healthier way of living is by introducing people to the concept that healthy food can taste good! My classes are mainly focused on people who lead a busy lifestyle and don’t have or make time to prepare healthy meals and often end up in a drive-thru. A couple of years ago, I was leading a busy, stressful lifestyle and eating too many fast and processed foods. I ended up developing IBS along with a long list of food allergies. Fast and processed foods were not really an option for me anymore because of my allergies and so I had to start cooking for myself. It took me a long time to get back on my feet but by introducing a plant based, allergy free diet with organic, whole foods, I started the healing process and now I am happier and healthier today then I have been in years.
Mel is currently running booked out classes at Jiivala with outstanding feedback from attendees. She’s also developing her own range of products to sell at classes.
Rachel GreenwoodJiivala taught me that success as a Holistic Entrepreneur comes from my mind, body and spirit operating in harmony with one another. I learnt that knowing myself shapes my holistic venture, my brand or my truth relates to how I translate this knowledge in the market place. Food and nutrition are the very essence of life and thanks to Jiivala and Sherry Strong I have the skills to promote health through my new acquired culinary skills and knowledge of whole foods and am already helping people through developing classes with a new business partner, a series of ebooks on energetic eating and running shopping tours.
I am Rachel Greenwood, 28 years of age with a passion for health, fitness and wellness. I am a recent graduate from the Institute of Holistic nutrition and of course from the Jiivala Holistic Entrepreneurship program.
After one year studying at IHN I graduated with an abundance of new valuable knowledge, but I still felt lost. Alternative therapy like holistic nutrition is a new and growing field but I still had no real direction. I did the program at Jiivala in hope that I would find my direction. I learnt that to be a successful entrepreneur you must be authentic, passionate, driven and willing to take risks. Sherry Strong taught some very fundamental business concepts, ones that I will need in order to thrive.
Due to my background in sports science and injury rehabilitation following Jiivala I created the company Energetic Eating, which focuses specifically on holistic exercise nutrition. I am in the process of creating a series of eBooks, a website and blog. Jiivala gave me the direction I needed, Thank You!
Rachel is now running classes, food tours, seminars, on the faculty of the Institute of Holistic Nutrition and consulting to Jiivala.
Lara-Dawn StieglerWhat I got through Jiivala was clarity in lifestyle design, and the know-how to create a solid future on my own terms. I learnt how to give from a place of strength so that my work can make a positive impact in the world. If I had not attended Jiivala’s Holistic Entrepreneurship Program I likely would still be asking myself how implement my various talents and interests, rather than moving forward to craft a business which truly excites me.
I am Lara-Dawn Stiegler, a holistic nutritionist, award-winning author, and talented artist and photographer with a lifelong passion for our oceans.
Through Jiivala I merged my talents and passions into a business aimed at strengthening our relationship with the oceans. Through tours, books, speaking engagements, and classes, people will learn how their daily choices impact both their own health and the health of our seas.”
Jillian KolodkaSherry Strong is a teacher of leaders. She is an extraordinary representative of a strong female Entrepreneur who didn’t come from success, but created it all herself! This has given her the knowledge on how to teach sprouting entrepreneurs to do the same, to discover their own personal success and in a way that is wholesome and empowering. Sherry’s technique is business savvy married with wisdom, and infused with an infectious comedic edge!
Before I attended the Jiivala Holistic Entrepreneurship Program, I was searching for my path, incredibly shy, and couldn’t look a room in the eye! Sherry Strong has challenged me in a way I didn’t think anyone could, she cracked me out of my shell, and given me permission to be myself. Now I know how to “own-it” on my own terms!

Hello! I am Jillian Kolodka and I took the Jiivala Holistic Entrepreneurship Program because simply- I’m passionate about food and nutrition and I needed a little kick to get my business plans into action! I’m a Vegan Food Junkie and I invite you to come have fun with me in my kitchen! As a self proclaimed Earth-Mamma, Urban-Gardener and Organic Food Enthusiast, I fell in love with herbs and vegetables at a very young age. Decades later, I’m still the most comfortable bare-footed digging my hands into the soil. truly believe eating a whole food, plant based diet is the only medicine you need to heal your mind body and soul. I want to invite anyone to experience what it feels like to live more compassionately and glow from the inside out. I’m passionate about facilitating people on their journey of transitioning to a Vegan Diet, and to answer all the burning questions along the way! I will always boast that healthy food is indulgent, as I know my cooking workshops will convey my absolute love for seasonal and organic food. I know we all have the ability to awaken our inner culinary gurus by working from our hearts, listening to our bodies and following our own intuition.

I not only discovered my buried dreams I was given the tools to help me accomplish them. Erin HuntJiivala to me was all about finding who I am. Before Jiivala I had no direction, I was attending school all the while feeling completely lost with no future in sight. Jiivala gave me that direction and soon became the backbone to my dreams. The month long course overwhelmed me with inspiration and mad me realize my potential. Jiivala help mold me into the confident individual I am today. Thanks to Sherry Strong and her amazing school I am now at the beginning of my future and I am going to keep moving forward all while climbing to the top. I am developing a series of products and services that I am passionate about. Jiivala was an amazing experience and I would do it over again in a heartbeat.
Hello! My name is Erin; I am a holistic nutritionist in training, lover of all beings, life and food. Before Jiivala I needed direction, I had no idea where I was going and what I wanted to do with my education and myself. With Sherry’s guidance I have found my way.
My passions are my lifestyle as a vegan first and creating delicious food at a close second. My goal is to share these passions with community, veg and non-veg, and invite them to join me and my collective partner, Jill, in various food demos, workshops and events all in the name of compassion, love and good times. This is a start for me, as I want to build myself in the vegan community spread compassion and keep growing. I am also working on creating a series of eBooks based around the vegan lifestyle but also offering an open approach to non-vegans to explore the idea and get to know more about their veg friends. My life is illuminated with possibility and thanks to Jiivala I see my potential.
Erin is developing an ebook range called “OMG There’s a Vegan in My House” as well as a ra range of earth & animal friendly products and solutions for the home.
Carmen DunnInspirational – Is what comes to mind when I think about Sherry. She takes the confusion out of nutrition thanks to her philosophies like ‘Nature’s Principle’. This concept simplified all the conflicting views on nutrition I learned and now I feel confident to explain nutrition to my clients.
Carmen Dunn – Holistic Nutritionist and former student of Sherry’s
Leah ToddI had the pleasure of experiencing Sherry’s gifts both as teacher and public speaker during my time at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition. From the moment she walked into the room she had an energy about her that was truly unique- both radiant and grounded.
As a teacher her curriculum was structured, but allowed for maximum personal expression of each student. There were clearly laid out expectations of what to bring to class each day and there were no allowances given for poor effort, including but not limited to stage fright, exhaustion, anxiety, schedule etc. This created a natural high degree of expectation which we all grew to rise to- and then push ourselves to exceed. Presentation of one’s personal best became exciting.
I consider Sherry inspirational because she was open about exactly who she was and what her life was- present, past and future. Her own career journey was an open road map for us all to study, and the class shared an unbelievable range of emotion together, from huge laughter to tears. Each student was pushed to be better and better at speaking, goal-setting, and releasing blockages.
I am now using my skills as a public speaker daily in my position in business development and marketing for Relaxus Products Ltd, a wellness company with international required networking of professional standards. I thank Sherry for helping me to hone my skills and encouraging me every step of the way. I would not hesitate to say that anyone could benefit from her coaching.
